I clear up some potential misconceptions about where Neighbor Boy’s Kickstarter funds are going. You can donate with a clear conscience!

The money is rolling in, and we’ve started spending it. See the update here.
This Kickstarter project is completely real, and not just a way to promote our show:

The very best thing about the Splitsider interview...
Is the lone comment at the bottom.
There has been a lot of advance buzz, and many reviews written, about Key & Peele. This is the first interview I’ve read with the director, Peter Atencio. And, I think it’s terrific. It doesn’t hurt that he’s my son, but, objectively, I still think its a great read, and gives you a better understanding of the depth of Peter’s...

garlock:
My sketch team, Neighbor Boy, was mentioned in this New York Times article(along with other fellow Maude teams Onassis and Fambly and of course SCF). Oh look a picture of our own Kate Hess in a sketch written by Melinda Taub. Are we famous yet?
Yes! We are famous yet. This means we are famous. (And rich?)
My sketch group Neighbor Boy is doing a comedy show about Kickstarter. We have a Kickstarter for it. To be clear: The Kickstarter show and the Kickstarter for the show are both very real. You can for real give us money.
neighborboy:
Our Project: Neighbor Boy’s Kickstarter is for funding a 30-min sketch comedy show about Kickstarter. So this is a Kickstarter for a Kickstarter show.
The show...

Kerri Kenney, Thomas Lennon, Ben Garant - “Noel Coward’s Last Play”
It’s almost like having a new sketch from The State.
This is my favorite thing.

nate dern: Shit Girls Say →
natedern:
Have you seen those Shit Girls Say videos that are floating around? Watch it here if you haven’t.
What would a normal human response be to seeing those videos? To laugh and share the link with a friend? To smile politely and move on with one’s life? To find them vaguely offensive but mostly harmless?
Those all seem like reasonable responses. But if you’re me, you spend a few hours...
A play about deciding how many Christmas lights to...
Hannah: We probably shouldn’t put all of these lights on the Christmas tree.
Amanda: Yeah, we really only need two of the four strings, tops. Maybe just one.
Mama: If we use this many lights we might actually blow a fuse.
Melinda:
And here was the result.
Bid farewell to trailblazing beta team Diamonds Wow! by watching one of our final videos, the Christmas-themed History Of Improv. Starring Laura Willcox, Kevin Hines, Timmy Wood, Adam Levy, Alex Scordelis, Alex Adan, Sean Hart, and Boris Khaykin. Directed by the wonderful Trevor Williams.
Rapey much, New York Times?
Does the New York Times have a picture of a sexual assault in progress on its front page today? More or less without acknowledging it? Huh.
Pic after the jump jump isn’t working for some reason. Sorry. You have to click on it to see it though, right?
It’s from the Cairo protests, and it’s a compelling image, but… I have lots of feelings about this.
For one thing,...

100% yes for sure. People of color, gay people, poor people are all standing awkwardly by the chips and dip with me at this metaphorical awful party. It’s the women thing that hits me personally in the gut, because in all other ways I am privileged as fuck, but it’s hardly the only thing that needs to be looked to. I like to think that getting more women, people of color, and LBTQ...
On being a girl and going to the movies
So you’re at a party. And it’s an awesome party. Great music, cool snacks, and it’s not too stuffy because the windows are open and there’s a nice cross breeze. Plus the guests? Killer. Everyone’s funny and cool and has a really neat career and you just want to be pals with all of them. And they’re all having a hell of a time. They love everybody in the room....

I called the police. →
I called the Chicago Police Department (312-744-4000) to make sure they knew about this. I spoke to Officer Henry, who sounded dubious and kept asking if I was “sure it wasn’t a joke,” but he told me I could email the link for the video to cityofchicago@chicagopolice.org, which I did. It bounced. I am calling back. But I imagine this is the sort of thing where they will take it...
